Secular Franciscan Offers Pilgrimage
To Rome and Assisi in October 2010

Gloria House, a Secular Franciscan who operates Gloria House Christian Gifts in Corning, NY, is sponsoring a pilgrimage to Italy from Oct. 1 to 11, including visits to the Vatican and Assisi.

“The Pilgrimage will have a Franciscan flavor to it and will include many highlights including a stay in Assisi for St. Francis' Transitus and Feast Day,” she said.

The $2,590 per person price includes roundtrip airfare, hotel accommodations, two meals a day, gratuities, fees to Vatican sites and tickets to weekly papal audience. There will be an English speaking tour director in Italy, plus a priest will accompany the group to offer daily mass.

A 10 percent down payment of $259 is due by April. “Early bookings are needed to reserve rooms during a time that is busy especially in Rome and Assisi,” she said.

Early October is a beautiful time to be in Rome and experience the beautiful aesthetics of the country, architecture, the religious sites, she said, noting: “Pilgrims must be prepared to walk a lot and to be open to the spirituality of a pilgrimage.”
