March 9 in Rochester Area
Seculars Bring in Friars for Afternoon
Of Talks on 'St. Francis & the Passion'
Rochester area Secular Franciscans are sponsoring another Franciscan Day on March 9, featuring two of Fr. Benedict Groeschel’s friars on the theme, “St. Francis and the Passion.”
Fr. Anthony Baetzold and Fr. Glenn Sudano of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal from the South Bronx “will be offering an opportunity for the general public to step aside from the business of life and step into a time of Lenten blessing,” the event poster states.
“Talks and prayer will focus on the holy insights bestowed upon the Church by St. Francis 800 years ago, vibrant insights in that medieval time which are more relevant than ever today.”
The Franciscan Day will run from 1:30 to 4 p.m. at St. Leo the Great Church, 167 Lake Ave., Hilton, NY.
“Our Franciscan Days with the Friars have become a wonderful means to evangelize and is certainly letting the area know that we Seculars are out there!” said Mary Hogan, SFO, minister of Immaculate Heart of Mary Fraternity, which is co-sponsoring the day with Glory of Yahweh Fraternity.
